2 New Games!
News posted 16th August, 2008 by Knudde (Shab) 2 Comments
Dustin Gunn has just uploaded the demo for his newest action game Mayhem 3. It's got tons of different weapons and a really solid feel to it, so be sure to check it out.

Comments from the Author: Mayhem 3 tells the epic story of humanity's struggle with a force so brutal and bizarre that our only hope lies one random Mexican citizen; Mig Carter. He'll travel across the barren Mexican deserts to reach America, where the real threat is unfolding.

It's violent and has some swearing so disgress the hell out of it.

But that's not all, we've also got a charming little Open Source platformer by -Ricky- called Uppy Duppy starring a marshmallow character. (That looks somewhat familiar!)

Comments from the Author: Uppy Duppy is a small platform game about a marshmallow who must make it to the top of the level and save his friends. He has obstacles to overcome including spikes water and the bottom of the screen (the most deadly of the 3). This game is very difficult but you get unlimited lives. There are ten levels plus a level editor.

New Demo: A Midsummer Night's Game
News posted 12th August, 2008 by Rikus 8 Comments
Happy Tuesday everyone! What would a tuesday be without some eggs and a spiffy new Demo to spice things up? Well then here is A Midsummer Night's Game created by NMasutaa Now this is only a 1 level demo but he sure is off to a great start!

Comments from NMasutaa: A Midsummer Night's Game" tells the story of young Eliza's bizarre trip to Ashland, Oregon. She falls in love with an actor in the play "A Midsummer Night's Dream," and when she attempts to make him fall in love with her, she comes very, very close to bringing about the apocalypse... or should I say, a deliciously yummy apocalypse. New Game Eternal Man and I'm kinda back:)
News posted 12th August, 2008 by Rikus 13 Comments
Anyone miss me?, kinda?:) Oh well i'm back anyway! Well kinda of, flooring is going into my house now meaning work is still being done on it but at least i sort of have a internet connection. Well enough talk lets get this front page party started! Lets start with a new game by Borgi that he made for Peblo's compo!

Comments from Borgi: I entered Peblo's Game making tournament too, and I submit my game here too. I've tried to put as many cameos as I could in the game, most of the people of cameos are from this site. I'm sure you will recognise them, the main character is one of the too. He was my partner in this round and we dueled. (at this time, when I wrote this, we don't know the results) Click here to go to the download page for Eternal Man.

As work clears up I should be around much more in the coming days, bare with me as i try to catch up. If you have game or project that just has to be on the front page, then let me know!

Recent games

Now, new games don't need highlighting anymore thanks to the nifty spotlight feature. But since there are some spectacular new games out here, a few of them deserve a bit of a mention.

First, there's FIG (screenshot), a charming little game about a brainless, green-clothed Guy who seeks to return to his home. In order to do this, he must collect all the stars from 35 different-looking islands. The Guy would be totally helpless if he tried to collect the stars alone (he doesn't have a brain, right?) but luckily he has a helper: you!

And then, there's also Lily by veteran kliker Hayo. The story is about two hippies in a nearby future who want to end all war. Chris Bannister is leading this project from his safe base while Tal Cooper goes out to fight war-hungry people, in this case fat general Montegrosso and his army. Being hippies they don't really want to kill anyone, so they invented bullets that turn things to flowers. It looks simple and fun. While I haven't tried it out yet, it's on my list of things to download.

Coal (demo) looks interesting judging from the projects page.

Also, there's a bunch of other games that would be spotlighted on a slower week such as Monsterball X-Themed (a rather dubious title) and Abtruse Ball. Also a few other games which look interesting, but it's up to you to browse through the downloads page for them ;)

It's a good day to klik
News posted 31st July, 2008 by Muz 21 Comments
Wow, here's a major news update.

First of all, The Spirit Engine 2 is out! It's no longer a freeware game, but that means that it's all the better, with a new engine, new graphics, and a professional soundtrack. For those of you who loved the original, you could try the demo for The Spirit Engine 2 and even buy the full version if you like it enough.

Also, Eegra has finally finished judging the First Annual Game Makin' Shindig. What's that? Why it's an indie game-making competition with over $2750 in prizes! Why should the obsessive kliker care? Because rumor has it that 2 klikers joined the fray! One of them sucked and got last place or something, but the other one apparently did very well. Go to the Shindig announcement page for the full details and downloadable games.

On a somewhat less epic scale, TDC has two new games: Chaos Wave and Gunfighter. Both good games, but the new games out there shine too brightly. You can vote for them for next week's GOTW!

New tournament/competition by Peblo!
News posted 27th July, 2008 by Flava 24 Comments
Peblo has just posted a forum post regarding a competition he is starting, and I personally think it's a great idea. It should hopefully get everyone in the mood for making games again, and also working together.

The idea is that you put your name down, and you'll be paired with another random clicker - and you'll have to make games with them, fighting off the other teams. I've put my name down, but Peblo needs more names in order to make sure the tournament can take place. So please click the link below and put down your name!

The prize is $150, generously donated by Peblo, and hopefully some other prizes which he is working on.
