New Submission: Temple DacKtrim
News posted 20th April, 2018 by The Chris Street 4 Comments
Alien Seed Games (I'll call him ASG, it's easier abbreviated!) has been a long-time user of Multimedia Fusion, having created several games over the years, but unfortunately never getting around to finishing them. Trust me, I know the feeling on that!

Anyhow, three game projects have been submitted by ASG. All look very colourful and intriguing. I've highlighted his submission Temple DacKtrim out of the selection for front page coverage, because it features a random level generator, which is a rather impressive feat of coding, plus it looks good fun to play, albeit in skeleton form. Let's give ASG some motivation to finish his games as I'd love to see this finished :D

Comments From The Author:
"Temple DacKtrim is a top-down shooter with a random level generated every play from a list of set pieces. it was meant to be a kind rough like game with lots of re play so there not much game play sorry just ground work for a bigger more complex game."

As always, the ever present The MPP has uploaded Noah & Cynthia's Multiplayer Ruimte Avontuur which I'm pretty confident isn't the same English I learned. I know English, I should know that's not English.

Hi TDC, I think we're getting warmed up. We got Circy back, which I'm sure is a lot more interesting than lil 'ol me! I'm personally super excited, and I'm confident we can get this site back into it's old state of...

News: Clickteam are hiring!
News posted 26th March, 2018 by The Chris Street 3 Comments
In case you weren't aware, Clickteam have a rather nice blog (thanks to MonadoBoy64 for this news, earning himself a hearty 100 DC points). They appear to be expanding, and are hiring for a few programmers to assist with both Clickteam Fusion 2.5 and the upcoming Fusion 3. If you meet their criteria for employment, you could be contributing to some fantastic projects!

From Clickteam:
"Are you a talented programmer who can think out of the box and has love for all things #MadeWithFusion, Then we might be looking for you. We are seeking programming muscle to help with the current Fusion 2.5 line of tools and exporters as well as additional help with the forthcoming Fusion 3 project. Please shoot a email to services@clickteam.com and include your resume and any example work or references you think are relevant."

That's it from me, heading away on honeymoon for a bit. Please don't contact me during this time period as I probably won't respond - but the other admins may be present!

Two posts from me in one day? Blimey. Mark this day down, fellow klikkers!

Ok, so after sifting through a lot of the Pending Downloads, several games remain there after a couple of months. Some of the admins have left comments under those games and given reasons why they've not been accepted through. Most of the time, it's a screenshot issue, but on many other occasions, there has been a poor description.

TDC has the potential to thrive once again. Certainly, life here is not the same as it used to be. Many of the admins here including myself don't have as much time as we used to - that's pretty much a given. We're off in full-time employment, getting married, having kids, etc, so it never hurts to give us a boost!

I propose the following. It's not mandatory:

  • When submitting a download, ensure the screenshots and links work. A download without screenshots will generally not be submitted.
  • Please give a reasonable description of the submission in question. A three or four line paragraph at the minimum!
  • Check for any comments the Admins may make under your game. You can still view your submission, even though it isn't public, by clicking here and searching under "My Downloads"
  • If a certain length of time (say, a month) has passed and your game still doesn't appear, it will probably have been deleted - unless we have been ultra lazy! Feel free to message us to chase up on it though, or submit it again.
  • Help us find news! If you see anything which we miss, do let us know by messaging us. If the news you've found ends up on the front page, we will credit your name and give you a whole 100 DC points! Because they're worth everything these days ;)

I guess that's it for now. I won't be posting news for a few weeks at the very least, because I'm off doing one of those busy admin things... getting married!

  • New Game: Dragon Byte
News posted 15th March, 2018 by The Chris Street 1 Comment
It's been a long time since I've done this... let's see how things go! Longtime klikker Yai7 (also known as Nastyman) has submitted a new game to TDC. Called Dragon Byte, the game was created during a NES-style game jam, looks colourful, and most importantly fun to play. With twenty challenging levels to play through, can you beat Dragon Byte?

    Comments from the Author:
"It's up to a Knight and his loyal dragon companion to save Tayson's mother who has been taken away by another fearsome dragon. Move around a hedge maze and strike various monsters that try to attack the castle, You can buy various upgrades in a special in-game stand, summon knights and archers, attack with your dragon and upgrade stats. Avoid the monsters breaking the locks on the castle's doors and do not let the monsters invade."

    Stay in school!

Goodbye Chris we will miss you.

Hi folks, so a couple of days ago the klik community lost one of its earliest and friendliest members. Chris Perry AKA Chrisbo here on the site. Chris was part of the community since 1995. While he took a brake for a while he recently started to make games again under the Midnight Mastodons company label. His latest release was a game called Rocket Core.

I just wanted to make this post to remember Chris. I will always remember Chris as such a nice person and such a great, friendly and helpful member to the klik community and friend.. He will be missed. Feel free to leave any comments or memories below.

Also if someone has any of the old games he made like the Astroman 2 demo or Simfish even let me know so we can put them back on site.
